At the beginning of the year, Mike Cannady joined Shelter Works as its new controller. Kathie Haferkamp, who is been in that capacity for over 10 years, has officially retired (although she may do some special projects for us every once in a while). While we are sorry to see Kathie go, we’re excited to have Mike on board.

Occasionally, we highlight the professionals who work in our production facility to make those shelters, but today, we are highlighting someone who works quietly in our offices, usually going unnoticed in the background, working with our comptroller Kathy Haferkamp to make sure all the billing for those beautiful buildings is in good order.

Izet Brkic has been a mainstay on the manufacturing team for Shelter Works since 2001. He now works as a Team Leader – Assembly making our client’s FRP shelters, but over the years, he has worked in every area and has a working knowledge of every aspect of the Shelter Works production process.

That’s how Scot Lauth describes his new job as Logistics Coordinator for Shelter Works. Scot has been hired to handle all logistical matters in transporting customers’ fiberglass buildings to their final destination. This includes negotiating with transportation companies, working with on-site contractors to set up, confirm and monitor delivery of the building to the job site, and most importantly, communicating with the customers.
