Shelter Works Welcomes Amy Gottesman as Project Manager
Shelter Works is pleased to welcome Amy Gottesman to the project management team. Amy joined Shelter Works in July, bringing project coordination experience, a strong customer focus, and a career path that proves there is more than one way to become an expert at keeping complex projects on track.
As Project Manager, Amy coordinates customer projects from purchase order acceptance through production and delivery. She manages schedules, documentation, customer communication, approvals, and project milestones while working closely with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, Logistics, and Finance.
Amy brings experience coordinating municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects to Shelter Works. Her background includes managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, invoices, schedules, and equipment deliveries. She describes organization, clear communication, and proactive problem-solving as core strengths.
Amy’s path to Shelter Works has included a few interesting turns. Originally from Michigan, she holds a master’s degree in wildlife biology and has worked in laboratory cancer research, owned a bakery, operated a home-based baking business, and ultimately transitioned into project management.
Through those experiences, she has developed skills that translate surprisingly well across industries: organization, adaptability, communication, and the ability to calmly manage many moving pieces at once.
Amy moved to St. Louis eight years ago and has since made the area home. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, hiking, live music, reading, playing games, and spending time with her family and dogs. Her background in wildlife biology has also contributed to her continued interest in environmental conservation, wildlife protection, and animal shelters.
For Amy, joining Shelter Works also provides an opportunity to get closer to the manufacturing process.
“I love that Shelter Works manufactures its shelters right here in St. Louis,” Amy said. “I’ve always been fascinated by the manufacturing process and wanted to be part of a local company building tangible products.”
“We are excited to welcome Amy to Shelter Works,” said Melany Pearia, General Manager. “Her project coordination experience, attention to detail, and ability to build strong working relationships will be valuable as we continue to grow. We look forward to the positive impact she will have on our customers and our team.”
Welcome to Shelter Works, Amy!
