Congratulations Don Scheck!
Shelter Works Celebrates the Retirement of Don Scheck
Shelter Works would like to congratulate Don Scheck on his retirement after 18 years of outstanding service. Don has been an integral part of our company and its growth. He leaves behind a legacy of excellence, dedication, and leadership.
Don was the Production Supervisor at our St. Louis plant, managing the manufacturing process from the time the drawings were received through to assembly. With his calm leadership and in-depth understanding of the processes and skill required to make a quality fiberglass enclosure, Don oversaw multiple areas of production and ensured smooth, high-quality workflow every step of the way.
Don started at Shelter Works in the trim booth, where shelter parts (walls and roofs) are finished before they go to assembly. Don quickly proved himself as a self starter and eager learner, and two years later he was promoted to a supervisory role that he’s held for the past 16 years, making a lasting impact on our operations and culture.
Before joining Shelter Works, Don served 20 years in the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Sergeant First Class E7. His military career took him across the globe, including assignments in Korea, Germany, and Kuwait, as well as stateside at Fort Hood and Fort Sill.
Outside of work, Don and his wife of 39 years, Barb, enjoy life to the fullest. Proud parents to three sons and grandparents to two, Don and Barb are avid motorcyclists who love exploring the back roads together on Don’s Harley and attending bike rallies around the country. They are starting off their new adventures with a trip to Knoxville to visit friends from his military days.
As Don moves on to this new chapter, we thank him for his 18 years of service, leadership, and friendship. His knowledge, ability to share that knowledge, and his colorful language will be greatly missed, but we are excited for all the adventures retirement has in store for him.
Congratulations, Don! Enjoy your well-earned retirement!
