Congratulations Don Scheck!

shelter works employee Don ScheckShelter Works would like to congratulate Don Scheck on his recent celebration of 15 years with Shelter Works. He is the second Shelter Works team member to achieve this milestone.

Don is the Production Supervisor in the St. Louis plant.  He manages the manufacturing process once the shelter drawings have been released to the production floor. He oversees the different areas within the manufacturing process and manages workflow.

Don came to Shelter Works with four years of experience in fiberglass fabrication. He started in the trim booth where parts are quality checked and edges are sanded and cleaned before moving to assembly. Don spent two years in the trim booth before being promoted to the supervisory position he has held for the past 13 years.

When asked what sets Don apart, Melany Pearia, Director of Operations, stated “Don’s vast fiberglass knowledge and commitment to quality are matched only by his integrity and dedication to the team. It is wonderful working with Don, knowing I can always count on him to get the job done and done right.”

Prior to his work in manufacturing, Don spent 20 years with the United States Army where he retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class E7. During his time in the military, he was stationed at Fort Hood and Fort Sill, as well as at assignments in Korea, Germany, and Kuwait.

Don and his wife of 36 years, Barb, have three sons and six grandchildren. Don & Barb are avid motorcyclists and during their free time, they can be found on Don's Harley touring the back roads and attending bike rallies.

Congratulations Don!
